I believe that each individual and every couple has within them the capacity for growth and profound strength. It is among the greatest honors of my life, to walk alongside the people I work with, as they deepen their understanding of themselves and shift their personal narrative into a story of resilience and empowerment.
Asking for support can feel daunting, and it is such an act of courage! Together we will build a therapeutic collaboration that will serve as a foundation for growth and healing. I hold a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Montana State University and am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. My own strengths include working with people who have experienced traumas, issues surrounding gender, sexuality and sexual orientation, grief and loss, self harming behaviors, life transitions, relationship issues as well as those who struggle with addictive behaviors. Shame can be a barrier to knowing your true self, but I know that you can overcome the challenges in your life and shed the debilitating effects of shame.
I was born in Missoula, Montana, but spent some of my formative years living in Seattle, Washington, before returning to the Mountains of Montana. Montana is home, but the Pacific Northwest will always hold a piece of my heart. When I am away from the therapist’s chair, you may find me spending time with my family. I enjoy being outside in this beautiful part of the country, gardening, hiking, reading, baking, and photography.
Finding the right therapist is important, because of that I offer a free 20 minute consultation before intake to ensure that we will work well together. I work with individuals and couples of all ages. In working with clients, I use a Narrative Therapy perspective, which is a form of psychotherapy that is non-pathologizing, and sees the clients’ problems as being external from their identities. I also believe that meeting each client where they are with unconditional acceptance and compassion is paramount for a meaningful therapeutic relationship.
